The Importance of Creating Healthy Habits: Body Awareness-Part I
Taking advantage of the full Moon in Virgo this week, I would like to talk about the importance of habits and how they help us to create our daily path towards what we long for, from our center.
In Transpersonal Coaching, we approach habits from a holistic perspective, that is to say, we not only include body awareness, but also mental/emotional and energetic/spiritual awareness.
Part I: Body Consciousness
Body awareness consists of the relationship we have with our body, and its associated physiological desires.
Most of the time we don't pay attention to our body, our breathing, our heartbeat, the tension in our muscles, etc. We leave it on autopilot and don't become aware of them until the body alerts us with some ailment or illness that interrupts the flow of our day.
Many diseases are psychosomatic, they come from a stuck or trapped emotion, which has not been managed or released and sometimes not even identified. The body is the escape valve of emotions and when they are ignored, the body ends up getting sick, so it is important to get out of our automatisms and be present.
On the other hand, when choosing the food we eat, if we do it from the body listening, we receive a guide that allows us to feed ourselves in a more intuitive way, where diets cease to take importance and we ingest those foods or drinks that our body system needs at every moment to generate the necessary energy to carry out our day successfully and harmoniously.
The body is the simplest way we have to be in the present, to remind us who we are, where we are and helps us to identify our emotions and thoughts.
At the same time, it is advisable to create habits of presence, meditation and contemplation, since this way we will be more open and willing to receive intuitive guidance, thanks to having created those empty spaces within us.
By integrating body listening as a daily habit we become fully aware of our state. This intelligence comes from billions of cells that compose us and that are in continuous communication with us, and by opening ourselves to receive and taking action accordingly, the benefits are innumerable, bringing us balance and harmony both internally and externally, being able to go through our day-day in a fluid way and carrying out what we propose successfully.
Having said that:
How do you take care of your body?
Do you do any kind of daily practice or sport?
Do you eat healthily? How do you choose the foods you eat?
Do you listen to the body and emotional message you receive from your system?
Have a nice day
