Mindfulness

Taking advantage of the fact that the moon is in Taurus today, I would like to talk about the importance of mindfulness, the power of the here and now.

We are used to live immersed in a constant automatism, completely imbued in our thoughts, automating our behaviors, conducts, experiences, without being conscious of what we do or think. This is the way we have lived and learned to live.

But there is another very different way of living, much more enriching, clean, stable, balanced, that can fill us with moments of peace, wisdom, a more pleasant life, with greater well-being. This is achieved with the training of our mind, with being and bringing our mind to the present moment. It is a training that requires effort and perseverance since the mind is not used to remain in a conscious state.

It consists of constantly practicing mindfulness, being aware of the present moment. If you are already in the present moment you just have to be aware that you are living it. That is, if at that moment you are cooking, pay attention to what you feel, the touch when you touch the food, its smell, etc. allow yourself to immerse yourself in the experience you are having at that moment. Another way is to become aware of the flow of our breath for a few minutes, entering into the organic rhythm of each inhalation and exhalation, decreasing the volume of our internal dialogue that wanders between the past or the future, bringing us to the here and now.

It is almost impossible to stay in the present moment all the time, however, through simple mindfulness practices such as being present or breathing, we can gradually cultivate those spaces within ourselves that will allow us to enjoy life more, reducing automatisms and reactivity to what happens to us in our daily lives, activating the "Being" mode and deactivating the "doing" mode.
